I have been using the 2009 depower set up on my 2006 sonic for a week now. This new loop and depower strap are amazing, I have also been using it on my new HQ Neo twinskin foil also since HQ's bar sucks. The ability to change the distance between the bar and the depower strap in seconds on the fly makes this the best setup i have used from any manufacturer and I have tried them all. It is now simple to adjust the bar setup for any kite and for students with shorter arms who couldnt reach the depower strap and also to limit the amount of depower on a light wind day for those students who insist on oversheeting repeatedly no matter what you tell them.

Changing the loop and strap took about 20 min because i had to interpret the function of all the loose pieces and parts that were shipped to me directly from the factory as soon as they were availible. What can I say GK rocks in terms of customer service and response to issues. If you get the whole setup asembled it should take 5 min to change. It should be noted that the QR is slightly different internally from matts great video so be aware that you run the depower line through the slot in the metal plate closest to the bar side of the QR and not through the two holes that show in the video on the loop side of the QR. Those 2 holes are not on the production model.

Mattt you have amazed me again with this depower QR setup because it is so simple but at the same time bomb proof and adjustable on the fly.Keep up the good work.Tomorrow I am trying it out landboarding and buggying and I should be able to try it out in the snow next weekend at the Skyline Utah Snowkite Summit .Keep up the good work.
